I recently asked my client if he knew if the car has been polished or painted before which he said it hadn't. I took a full reading and came to the conclusion it in fact had been, so chances are the previous owner was trying to cover up some damages, because according to this device readings it had in fact been repainted on the classic spots like the hood, left fender and left front door and the A-pillar. With the included software I created a full reading and compiled a pdf to send to him to show my finding, visual aids over just explaining certain fact really look professional and convinced him that I wasn't the one "blowing smoke" to sell a service.Yes, there are other devices out there at a much lower price, and higher for that matter, but I ended up with this over cheap knock-off brands that may or may not read correctly, I feel fairly competent about this device and I really like that you can create an inspection protocol, normally devices with these features goes for almost thousand bucks or more so this was a no brainer to try out and I am very pleased with it, easy setup and fast readings.If you are a detailer, especially mobile, don't go cheap on this tool, no need to overdo it eather, this will give you enough information to take an educated decision on how or if you can proceed with a polish job without breaking the bank and you will look very professional when you show your client your findings.
